Dr Suzan Alawi

General Practitioner - Vocationally Registered

Dr Suzan Alawi graduated from medical school in the late eighties and worked in Iraq for Many years.  she worked in Australia for 10 years and in New Zealand for 6 years .  She has a specialist GP qualification (Fellowship) from the Australian Royal College and accredited by the New Zealand Royal College of General Practitioners.


Suzan has worked as a GP for more than 25 years.  She very much enjoys the one-on-one interactions with her patients, and finds the problem solving aspect of her job extremely rewarding.  Suzan enjoys travelling, cooking, and loves spending time with her grandchildren.

Dr Gareth Shalley

General Practitioner - Vocationally Registered

Dr Gareth Shalley joined Stanmore Bay Medical Centre in July 2018.  Gareth grew up in Auckland and graduated from The University of Auckland School of Medicine.  He moved to the Manawatu region to commence training in General Practice before returning to Auckland.

Gareth is a Fellow of The Royal College of General Practitioners and his medical interests include acute care and musculoskeletal medicine. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, swimming and diving. 

Fiona Stark

Podiatrist

Fiona qualified as a podiatrist in 1985 and has worked since then in NZ and the UK.  She started her first practice in 1995 on the North Shore, and since 2008 Fiona has been working as a caring health professional in her business Complete Feet Podiatry in Whangaparaoa.  

Fiona sees a wide age group of patients, from young children to adolescents as well as middle age and the elderly.  Fiona's work experience over the years has enabled her to accurately diagnose and treat all foot complains with care and at a high professional standard. 

Fiona is a current member of Podiatry of NZ and holds a Podiatry Diabetes Services contract.  Fiona is ACC registered and also offers Veterans Affairs treatment

Alisha Preest

Registered Midwife

Alisha qualified as a Registered Midwife in 2015 from AUT University. After graduating she worked at Auckland City Hospital for 3 years, before moving to Whangaparoa and joing the Rodney Coast Midwives.


Alisha offers full care throughout pregnancy, childbirth and the post-partum period up to 6 weeks. She loves working with families during this life changing time and has a passion for normal birth and supportive, holistic midwifery care.  She works as a part of a large team of experienced midwives and offers births at Northshore Hospital and Warkworth Birthing Centre.
